This site and this author have stood firm on the conviction that Fatih Based Partnerships WITH American churches, domestic and foreign missions are a TRAP. The socialist Peter Drucker and the organization he inspired his friend Bob Buford to start- Leadership Network- have used invitaiton only selection of “innovative” and ego driven young pastors to help inspire the transformation of the church in America and the world ,transforming its mission to “saving society” and away from Gospel, and pragmatic justifications of ternding growth strategies AND , in the end, the dreaded Faith Based Partnership model linking the church and Christians into the Three Legged Stool.This means the Government, Corporations, and Non Profits (including church and missions and para church organizations) “partner” to save society and offer humanitarian and community developement services.
The kiss of death has been the “non discrimination” policies in the face of the WOKE/DEI /Justice Cultural Tsunami AND the government desire to both CONTROL the partners exploiting their resources and to forbid ministry ….”any explicitly religious activity”. in the provision and administration of these service.
MANY CHURCH LEADERS HAVE SIMPLY LIED AND DENIED THE MONEY.
Southern Baptist and other ministry leaders have certainly not been forthright and honest about the fact that they receive government support or offered detail accountability of how much money and resources they receive. Some have simply lied and outright denied that this is happening and we have to act suprised that ministry like evangelism, bibles studies, prayer, giving away bibles and conversion based outreach are strictly forbidden in these programs adn partnerships.

Baptist Press just sent out this little “fingers under the door” article. Is this damage control /PR/ or just plain preemptive confession?

FACT CHECK:
The American Red Cross is now a totally secular organization adn has no gospel mission to protect.
The Salvation Army has made massive pro LGBTQ/WOKE Justice and politically left compromises which are well known and documented.
The SBC should be different but Wax proves the blindness of the SBC by the comparrision with a secular and a totally dead -twice dead, plucked by the roots for mer gospel ministry- The Salvation Army.

A FEW FINER POINTS IF THE CONTINUED DECEPTION,
ISOLATING THE SBC TIES TO TRUMP.
Wax does not go back into the decades long history or the deep partnerships formed with the SBC and the Obama era FBP offices or the activistism for “Social Change” in the SBC and SBC Seminaries that these partnerships triggered in 2009.
Baptist are lead by WAX to believe that this is mainly a Trump administration thing after admitting it has gone on for decades.
MAKING THE CASE THAT IS IS A GOOD THING.
Wax admits to cause for real concerns and critics of their compromised partnerships …but does so to deflect concerns and assert the “benefits” and good accomplished by them.

Yes, the meals or building materials may flow indirectly from the government, but Baptists utilize these resources in partnership with other agencies so the thousands of volunteers can do their good work and share Christ in the process. What’s more, the Cooperative Program and other offerings made it possible for associations and state conventions to purchase the equipment — mobile kitchens, showers, laundry trailers, mud-out tools — that built the infrastructure that has turned Southern Baptists into an indispensable part of any significant disaster relief response.”
SO SAYS WAX BUT THE SBC IS NOW A GOVERNMENT CONTRACTOR LIVING UNDER GOVERNMENT OVERSIGHT AND MEETING NON DISCRIMINATION STANDARDS AS SUCH.

NOTE- Wax does not offer admission of the deep concerns associated with the many other ministires in FBP or cheer efforts ACTUAL CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIANS to protect the church and ministries from the high cost and dangers of these Partnerships.
Instead he is saying it is the Conservative Christian leaders who “lobbied FOR them”.Not so. He then implies that concern and desire to protect the church from the dangers in this clearly comingled funding and politically driven program/partnership developemnt . protecting church seperations from government entrusion and controls- is not a good thing but an ” an argument for enshrining secularism”.

CLEARING THE HISTORY HOPING FOR BAPTIST SUPPORT -NEVER MIND THE DENIALS.
Though very few Baptist have known that their movements leaders were getting tax dollars (carefully referred to in the article as “public resources”) most conservatives would certainly see the dangers involved in such programs and funding. With massive red inky piling up in Washington and the recent DOGE /USAID exposure – Baptist and other Christian “giving units” might soon start withholding their “compassion ministry” funding if the leaders are already obtaining their tax dollars …and that of the next three generations of their descendents. The articles looks to be saying “forget that this is the launch of a coming clean and a confessional mode for the SBC…this money and these partnerships are “a good thing” so dont question it or be concerned..just trust us- keep giving …and support us as we position the SBC for more of the same.”

Update: Send Relief on leadership change, NGO collaborations
“When the compassion ministry partnership between the International Mission Board and North American Mission Board — Send Relief — was announced five years ago (Feb. 18, 2020), discussions for who would oversee the effort were taking place but not quite polished enough to be released at the same time.”…

“As Send Relief receives a wardrobe update and no longer sports the “bow tie” look, it now faces questions related to funds it received through World Relief in 2024 — funds that originated from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).”
“A self-described watchdog-type group (Center for Baptist Leadership), which is supported by American Reformer and focuses its efforts on the Southern Baptist Convention, released documents stating Send Relief received $70,000. Those funds were allegedly used to assist in refugee resettlement efforts, and CBL is expressing concerns about Send Relief using the funds.”
“The cooperative agreement included the refugee resettlement NGO World Relief as the primary contractor,” CBL stated in its report and suggests the funds come with some type of compromise.”
“A Send Relief spokesperson responded to The Alabama Baptist’s request for clarification regarding the funds.”
“We would never accept any assistance that would require us to compromise our faith and ministry in any way,” the spokesperson said.”

CONCLUSION
Nuance and “plaisible deniability” are just altrnative ways of admitting that SBC leaders have been less that host leading up to the present day outrage after USAID and other massive money dumps and slush funding flooding NGOs and ministries has been exposed.
In the SBC the rush into the false social gospel, the WOKE /LGBTQ Inclusion and even the forced and contrived “investigation” into sex abuse and racism in the SBC are ALL part of the social change- culture shift the SBC must undergo to continue to get the money.
