BAPTIST OWN LEADERS PRIMED THEM FOR BLM & 2020 DEMOCRATIC PARTY PLATFORM.

FROM 2018 MLK/50 TO ALIGNING YOUNG URBAN CHURCH PLANTERS WITH  & CAMPAIGN… TO RESOLUTION 9’s CRITICAL RACE THEORY AND INTERSECTIONALITY , BAPTIST HAVE BEEN SET UP IN ADVANCE FOR THE RADICAL RACISM OF THE 2020 ELECTION.

Rev Thomas Littleton                                                                                        8/23/2020

Black Lives Matter is admittedly a Cultural Marxist trained organization whose followers  have now been demonstrating, rioting, burning, looting and making their demands known in America’s streets for months now with no end in site. Hundreds of millions in support dollars from corporate America have fueled the movement which is rooted, not in the historic civil rights movement of the 50’s and 60’s but boastfully is moving to “disrupt the civil rights movement” with it’s own radical roots of feminist lesbianism and transgenderism and the full LGBTQ range of sexual liberation which have redefined global human rights. YET none of the radical reality of BLM has deterred conservative ( by reputation at least) Baptist leaders from stepping up and offering public support and even, in some cases, marching with radicals and their sympathizers in the streets.

THE “QUEER ROOTS OF BLM”

“Unlike the Black Freedom Movement of the 1950’s and 1960’s, BLM is inherently a movement sustained by a politics of blackness that is, Charlene Carruthers reminds us, unapologetically feminist, womanist, and queer. However, it would be unwise to forget and ignore the black queer cultural and political context from which this movement emerges and rests upon. The political insurgency of BLM evokes the likes of earlier black queer activists — lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender activists of African descent — who, because of time and circumstance, spoke in various tones of “how infinitely complex any move for liberation must be.” Indeed, if one were to search for a historical context to understand the imperative and invaluable context of today’s Black Lives Matter movement, then one would have to trace its legacies on the page as well as the stage. While Black Lives Matter — in all of its glory, rhetoric, and political praxis — very much disrupts anti-black publics, its living legacy as a contemporary political movement can be traced to black queer activism, writing and public speeches that book-end twentieth century US politics and freedom movements.”

“HEALING THE SOUL OF AMERICA”
“Democrats believe in bringing the American people together, not stoking division and distrust. President Trump has denigrated virtually every segment of American society—and in so doing, he has insulted the very idea of America itself. Healing the soul of America means facing up to the deepest inequities in our society (like) structural racism.”

“We believe Black lives matter, and will establish a national commission to examine the lasting economic effects of slavery, Jim Crow segregation, and racially discriminatory federal policies on income, wealth, educational, health, and employment outcomes; to pursue truth and promote racial healing; and to study reparations. We must acknowledge that there can be no realization of the American dream without grappling with the lasting effects of slavery, and facing up to the centuries-long campaign of violence, fear, and trauma wrought upon Black Americans.”

ED STETZER MARCHING WITH BLACK PRIDE

https://www.christianitytoday.com/edstetzer/2020/june/why-i-protest-and-you-should-too.html

Stetzer even wrote about his BLM support and marching for Christianity Today encouraging all other Christians to do the same.

“Pro ALL Life: Why I Protest and Encourage You to Do So Too”

“I’ve marched for life like lots of evangelicals. I encourage you to march for black lives as well. Protests are part of who we are.”

Yesterday, my family and I participated in a lament walk in Wheaton. I tweeted at the time, “At the Wheaton lament walk with my family. Communities all over the country are coming together to mourn and work for justice. I’ve never seen a group like this in Wheaton. It’s encouraging.” And I meant it.

Now, mind you, I am doing more than protesting—things like partnering churches together and giving to help impacted communities, but I’m also headed out again right now to be a part of a local protest.”

“I think protesting matters.”

ED STETZER – NEVER MIND THE “QUEER LGBTQ ROOTS” OF THE MOVEMENT OR THE FIRES STILL SMOLDERING IN AMERICAN CITIES INCLUDING YOUR OWN.

RUSSELL MOORE’S ERLC STAFERS PARTICIPATED AND ENDORSED THOSE BAPTIST PARTICIPATING

“Pastors Thabiti Anyabwile and David Platt blessed and prayed over the protestors starting in Ward 8 before crossing the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge.”

“Many Christians have been struck by the recent tragedies and the examples of systemic racism, but without a clear direction of response. We can relate to this feeling—wanting to show our support for black Americans, but not wanting to be associated with the rioting and violence taking place at many of the protests. The Sunday march provided us an opportunity for a way forward. ”

“We marched to the U.S. Capitol, prayed in Jesus’ name for Amos 5:24 to ring true in America, and we sang in joyful protest all the rest of the way to the White House.”

“Marching like this, with our brothers and sisters, singing and praying, is a powerful way Christians can respond to the injustice in our country. We should take advantage of our right to freely worship and assemble, according to our beliefs. Too many others around the world don’t have this privilege. ”

“This “Christian Response to Racial Injustice” is not the only Christian response to racial injustice. There are many ways Christians can and should respond, but we found it to be a powerful witness of our faith to see Christians publicly stand together and say “Jesus cares about justice. Black lives matter to God, and they ought to matter to us.”

“Many Christians are choosing the hard work of repentance, educating themselves, and having tough conversations with friends and family on race in America. These are not public nor glamorous actions, but they are vitally important to racial reconciliation. We should have grace with one another as we all do our different parts to pursue truth, goodness, and beauty in our country.”

FURTHER COVERAGE OF BAPTIST BLM SUPPORT IN OTHER MEDIA

Why the Church Should Support #BlackLivesMatter

NOTE THIS IS A 2016 “CONVERSATION ” ON CHRISTIANS SUPPORTING BLM.

David Platt Joins Evangelicals in March Against Racism in D.C.

“A few weeks ago, almost 16,000 college students gathered for Urbana, an evangelical conference promoting cross-cultural missions. While the event featured high-profile speakers like David Platt and Francis Chan, the most talked about session following the 2015 conference was Michelle Higgins’ talk about the evangelical church and the Black Lives Matter movement.”

“Her address generated some controversy, mainly surrounding the her support for Black Lives Matter and some side comments she made during her talk—causing InterVarsity, the organization that hosts Urbana, to respond officially and in follow up interviews.”

“Regardless, no one can deny the importance of Higgins’ speech, both in message and that it seems to represent the first major evangelical organization to put its weight behind the Black Lives Matter movement. Higgins, who is the director of worship and outreach at South City Church in St. Louis, issued a call to action, and at the very least, she sparked a much-needed discussion among evangelicals.”

“We talked to her about the Urbana talk and the importance of Black Lives Matter for all Christians.”

Black Lives Matter D.C. protests: Mitt Romney joins evangelicals ...

“Sunday’s march, already in progress for hours before Romney arrived, was called by local D.C. churches that count themselves as theologically conservative.”

“The event, described as a “Christian Response to Racial Injustice,” drew a diverse crowd and was supported by prominent preachers such as Thabiti Anyabwile, the pastor of Anacostia River Church, David Platt, lead pastor of McLean Bible Church in Vienna, Virginia, Mike Kelsey, McLean Bible Church’s lead pastor of preaching and culture, and Perrin Rogers of the Triumphant Church in Maryland.”

“Last year Platt prayed with President Trump at McLean Bible Church when the president made an impromptu visit, causing the pastor to explain the incident in a letter to the congregation.”

“Tyler Bowen, who attends Grace Meridian Hill, a church affiliated with the conservative Presbyterian Church in America, said the demonstration was indicative of a more advocacy-oriented strain of evangelicalism that is well represented in the churches that organized the march.”

“There is a branch of the evangelical church—like we saw today—that is standing up against these issues, is speaking out, and believes that Jesus is calling them to speak out,” said Bowen. “Speaking out is being faithful to his commandments.”

“Participants gathered in southeast Washington before processing toward the US Capitol, singing hymns such as “Amazing Grace” as they walked and holding signs with references to Bible verses such as “Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God,” from the Book of Micah.”

TGC AND ERLC  PROMOTED 2018 MLK/50 AS A FORERUNNER TO THE THE MODERN BLM MANIFESTATION

Thabiti began openly calling for Restitution Redistribution  and Reparations.

Reparations Are Biblical

“How might we define “reparations” in principle? I would define reparations as “material and social repayment made as acknowledgement and restitution by an offending party to an aggrieved party for wrong(s) done in order to repair the injuries, losses and/or disadvantages caused by the wrong.” Though these are my own words, I have in mind the work of William “Sandy” Darity at Duke University, who argues that reparations should have three aims: (a) acknowledgement of the wrongs done, (b) payment for the wrongs done, and (c) closure for both parties.”

CONCLUSION

Baptist have long made efforts to address the racial history in America and in their own movement. This ongoing effort began in earnest in the 1950s .But what is different today is that Southern Baptist have adopted the tools of the trade, the narrative and joined in the very movement of the most radical racial and sexual liberation movement to ever  achieve  mainstream American acceptance.

Baptist are using Cultural Marxist SOCIAL THEORIES  and engaging it’s ideology all the while they  condemn them in public. Southern Baptist leaders are affirming and marching with the lesbian and transgender founders of BLM who boast their intentions to “disrupt ” the civil rights movement with an LGBTQ ” BLACK AND QUEER PRAXIS”.

Baptist like Ed Stetzer are calling us to join him in protest. Whether they openly endorse Black Lives Matter or play the games of journalistic hair splitting by  capitalizing “Black” and not capitalizing “lives matter”- the endorsement and the call for support is all the same . We are being told that BLM in many ways embodies the Gospel.

If Baptist leaders like David Platt, Thabiti and Stetzer really believe in the compatibility of BLM and the Word of God then it is very likely these men are ignorant of the Gospel and their own salvation is suspect. BUT if they do know the truth and are playing racial politics in the name of the Gospel then their own willingness to pervert it and misuse their callings and influence to seduce believers of all races and all denominations into one of the worst deceptions in modern church history- then they cannot escape the judgement of God for doing so.

The Gospel is a post racial truth. It is the end of who we all were in our sin identities and offers the one great door to true change in the world. The Gospel is not a call to Justice but a call to Repentance and to obtain MERCY ONLY FOUND IN JESUS.

THE TAKING DOWN OF CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN INSTITUTIONS:PART 2

SO VERY LITTLE IS LEFT OF THE FRAMEWORK AND ORGANIZATION THAT SUPPORTED CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIANS FOR YEARS. FEELING PRETTY ALONE? HERE IS HOW AND WHY.

Rev Thomas Littleton                                                                                                     8/19/2020

On August 13th Robert Lopez article on the demise of many conservative Christian institutions appeared in American Thinker. Here is that article again.

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2020/08/et_tu_falwell_the_lefts_playbook_at_liberty_u.html

In it Lopez provided a list of organizations long considered part of the foundation stones of the Christian conservative movement. On the 14th this writer dug into the details of just one of those organizations on a steady drift into uselessness since 2012 /2013. Focus on The Family, under the leadership of Jim Daly, disappointing drift is chronicled here:

https://thirtypiecesofsilver.org/2020/08/14/the-taking-down-of-conservative-christian-institutions/

NOW LETS LOOK AT SOME OF THE OTHERS AND LATER SOME NOT ON THE LOPEZ LIST.

THE COLSON CENTER

Chuck Colson was viewed by many conservative Christians as a very influential conservative. Having been a DC insider who went to prison  for Watergate and “found faith” while in prison, Colson’s center was once viewed by conservative believers  as a gathering place for the most inspired and inspiring public figures who “shared their worldview”. While some viewed Colson’s ecumenism and some drift on key issues as a problem, still Colson Center remained at the center of conservative Christian political engagement for decades.

Today Colson Center is a full on partner of the funding organization pushing the “Faith And Works” social justice driven socialist economics for the church. This is being done in the name  Hayek economics and “Common Ground for the Common Good”. This effort has flooded our own seminaries since 2013. ANYWHERE  you find buzz phrases like “Human Flourishing ” you can rest assured the influence spoken about above is being promoted in place of a repentance and transformation based Gospel.

Other Partners

The best we can say for the Colson Center is that it gets around. Colson Center is involved virtually everywhere in conservative circles. This is also the worst thing that can be said of it. Christian Apologetics and Worldview  are now the Go-To tool for discipleship and the Colson Center still remains firmly at the top of the heap  promoting the new “junk ” justice economics driving Social Justice in our own midst.

Colson Center also recently hired one of the leaders of the radical and controversial Revoice “LGBT+ Thriving ” movement to be a Colson Center Fellows mentor but soon scrubbed it’s website to cover this fact. Colson Center is a key partner in the IACE Christian education alliance at SWBTS building an infiltration tool to fully saturate the Christian education market from pre K to doctorate level.

https://thirtypiecesofsilver.org/2020/08/06/laying-siege-to-christian-education/

Colson Center has reportedly taken ( but not yet confirmed in writing ) millions from the same funding source as the “Social Justice ” driven curriculum causing full on infiltration elsewhere.

SOUTHERN BAPTIST ERLC

The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission is the SBC policy and advocacy arm. ERLC presence with offices in DC gives it access to Capitol Hill and even to the White House.

https://erlc.com/resource-library/articles/explainer-a-history-of-the-erlc/

Longtime head Richard Land had his compromises on things like “Creation Care” aka  global warming  for politically and biblical sounding term for use by Christians. Land also signed on to be involved in the Council for Foreign Policy and run with some of the Aspen Institute events with fellow Baptist turned full time globalist Rick Warren. But Land did still come through on the homosexual agenda and gay marriage  with a no nonsense opposition and was far from aligning with the Obama White House. But in March 2013 everything changed at the ERLC when Land was put out to pasture by charges or “plagiarism” and “insensitive ” comments on race during the Trayvon Martin news cycle.

OUT WITH THE OLD LAND -IN WITH THE MOHLER UNDERSTUDY

Russell Moore is now head of the ERLC .He was “elected” in March 2013. He is a Democrat with political ambitions who formerly  worked as a staffer for a Democratic Congressman from Mississippi. Moore announced himself to the world with the waving of a flag of surrender to the “culture wars’ which he declared lost in an Oct 2013 Wall Street Journal article.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/evangelical-leader-preaches-pullback-from-politics-culture-wars-1382408957

Evangelical Leader Preaches Pullback From Politics, Culture Wars

Russell Moore of the Southern Baptist Convention says it is time for evangelicals to tone down the rhetoric.

Moore not only declared the “Culture War” was over and lost but that “Christians were the losers” and now had to ” back off the hateful rhetoric and just love our gay and lesbian neighbors”. For Moore no other battle seemed to epitomize the need for a nice new “WINSOME ” ( his favorite word) tone the massively funded and rising radical LGBTQ agenda in the second Obama administration. Unknown to most Baptist and conservative Christians the new ERLC head was VERY much at home in the Obama White House and was priming Christians to be “winsome” and go along if not outright supportive of the Obama admins anti-family and anti- religious liberty agenda. By 2014 Moore was even having private, closed door, backroom meetings with the Human Rights Campaign and other radical gay activist leaders. Baptist have never been told about these meetings or about what was agreed upon by the Baptist head ethics leader.

Moore has been a change agent from day one and has grown more brazen as the years wear on. He was/ is also a rabid never -Trumper/ Trump- hater  to the point the SBC leadership in the Executive Committee called him in and a put him a short leash on his rhetoric after churches began withholding funds from the SBC missions giving called the “Cooperative Program”. The leftist politics of their ethics and public policy head have been making Biblical conservative Baptist mad for years.. Moore and the ERLC are being investigated yet again by the SBC Executive Committee  on the same issues. It appears to matter only if it is impacting the cash flow as its impact on the political engagement of young Baptist does not appear to be of concern.

BEWARE WHEN YOUR CONSERVATIVE CHAMPION IS A BABY FACED LIBERAL TRAINED IN THEOLOGY

By the time Christians and Baptist in particular wised up to Moore, it was too late and much of the intentional damage to the SBC public stance had been done. Moore is so popular with the younger Seminary students and recent graduates in many SBC pulpits mainly because he gave voice to their own post modern disdain for their parents conservative convictions manifest in their political engagement. Moore may not have launched the rebellion by the “young, restless , and (neo) reformed” but he certainly helped foster and articulate it.

What Baptist still cannot accept is that Russell Moore is the protege of his spiritual father Albert Mohler under whose hand Moore was educated, served as his “research assistant” and was employed by Mohler’s SBTS (Seminary ) for over 20 years. In many uninformed minds the conservative Mohler, who “saved” the denominations flagship seminary from liberals almost 30 years ago, could never have provided the SBC with its most strategically placed ally of the far left. BUT INDEED HE DID.

IMG_1150 re

“R. Albert Mohler Jr. presents the 2016 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year award to Russell D. Moore.”

If we measure Russell Moore by the values held by those who pay his salary and by his job description -he is truly one USELESS Baptist BUT he is a well placed agent of change.

ONE THE TOPIC OF USELESS BAPTIST

While not on the Robert Lopez list it is still worth noting that Baptist have been expected to yield their political convictions to the rhetoric of another Baptist pro-LGBTQ activist, Muslim dialog, and even Black Lives Matter ally .Baptist leader Ed Stetzer whose footprints loom  large in the Baptist and conservative world is an example of the utter lack of substance many of the key leaders bring to Christian faith in the public square. If Stetzer were measured and labeled  among the “essential  vitamins” needed  daily for conservative Baptist health, his collective work would have the nutritional value of 10 pounds of cotton candy. He has certainly helped rot the TEETH of Baptist conservatism and engagement.

Stetzer has worked for the Baptist NAMB missions organization, Lifeway Research, and now sits atop the chair at Wheaton of Baptist most renowned evangelist Billy Graham. Yes Ed Stetzer, the golden boy of Barna and product of the “New Paradigm Church growth movement” Leadership Network would likely give Russell Moore a run for the title of most meaningless Baptist in the denominations employ. Besides this, like Moore, Stetzer always manages to locate himself on the left side of Conservative Christians values and convictions. Also like Moore, Stetzer seems proud of his failure to represent those he is supposed to speak for. Stetzer has been effective at broadening his misrepresentation to include the name of Billy Graham in whose center Stetzer is housing and hosting things like “Neighborly Faith” which is a movement to drive Christians toward  liking the idea of  having more Muslims neighbors a lot so they will support more immigration reform which means more $$$ for Baptist ministries like NAMB who partner with the government to resettle “refugees”.Stetzer recently proudly marched with the Black Lives Matter protest in Chicago. ( More to come on this Baptist racial justification effort soon.)

FAITH AND WORK BAPTIST SUPPORT 2020 RACIAL PROTEST

NOTE: Several SBC leaders and pastors used the Faith and Work racial justice center out of TGC’s Thabitis Anyabwile’s  church to support BLM and further stage Baptist show of support for the radical movement. ( More to come on this Baptist complicity with BLM soon.)

https://erlc.com/resource-library/articles/our-experience-at-the-faith-that-works-march-in-washington-d-c/

“The march was organized by Faith + Works DC, a Christian advocacy group out of Anacostia River Church pastored by Thabiti Anyabwile, and McLean Bible Church pastored by David Platt. Chronicled online with the hashtag #FaithThatWorks, the march started from the South East quadrant of the city; neighborhoods known for being largely nonwhite and underserved. The start and endpoints (Wards 7 and 8 to the White House) reflected just how geographically close two places can be while being worlds apart in resources, influence, and even physical safety. ”

“Pastors Anyabwile and Platt blessed and prayed over the protestors starting in Ward 8 before crossing the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge.”

ALLIANCE DEFENDING FREEDOM

God forbid that you ever find yourself in need of some pro-bono Christian legal representation and fall dependent upon ADF. Both Dr Lopez, who wrote the American Thinker article, as well as  this author here at Thirty Pieces of Silver have lived through the mishap of legal representation of Alliance Defending Freedom. Long stories for another place and time but suffice to say both ADF cases took the defendants into the heat of battle and abandoned them there.

ADF NEW LEADERSHIP

ADF was founded in he early 90s by many of the popular evangelical conservatives in response to the America Civil Liberties Union role in contributing to the erosion of values in America. In 2017 Michael Farris took over ADF. Farris  founded the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) and Patrick Henry College, both in Purcellville in Loudoun County in northern Virginia.

CROSSLESS CONTAMINATION

Patrick Henry College has employed Joe Carter for many years. Carter is also a long time editor for Acton Institute who partners with the funding behind the Oikonomia Network which is promoting the social justice driven Faith and Work economics flooding conservative evangelical seminaries since 2009 and reaching melt down contamination by 2013. Carter was also chosen to be the ERLC new chief message man when Russell Moore. Carter also joined The Gospel Coalition as an editor for its radical justice /neo reformed message. The Gospel and it’s central source of power, the CROSS of Christ, takes a back seat to the politicized justice agenda.

The coordination of all these organizations messaging through the libertarian ( if not outright liberal left ) Acton Institute, along with its bonds with the Vatican and global justice movements provide more than sufficient reason for conservatives to wonder who is really running the Christian conservative movement these days. Why do the same people from the same tight circle of organizations keep showing up in all of these conservative ?

Farris work at PHC and HSLDA is respected by many home school families and conservative Christians yet allowing the influence of Carter to remain at PHC has given rise to even more problems. PHC has hosted & Campaign co founder Justin Giboney in an interview with visiting mentor Marvin Olasky. In the interview Giboney pitched the & Campaign’s “Biblical Values & Social Justice ” work with high praise from Olasky. Also no line was drawn in the sand for PHS students when the endorsement of & Campaigns agenda turned to the Paul Singer funded “Fairness for All ” legislation endorsed by & Campaign. Giboney is a Democratic Party strategist and co-founder of & Campaign  with Obama Foundations Michael Wear. Many of the TGC leaders are involved in & Campaign and TGC co-founder Tim Keller just recently surfaced as an & Campaign Elder.

https://thirtypiecesofsilver.org/2020/07/25/tim-keller-joins-leftist-campaign/

All the & Campaign really does is provide a platform of voices from the left calling young conservatives to move to the mushy middle in support of the lefts political agenda. Why did Farris open the door for these TGC influences at Patrick Henry College?

PHC draws heavily from the home school market yet has allowed it’s students to be offered the option of careers in the seedy intelligence community. ADF now looks to be sitting in the same kind of slow and steady boil of other compromising conservative Christian organizations if Farris has brought some of his PHC standards with him. ADF is known for taking high profile cases to defend Christian rights and liberties but many of those whose battles don’t make the headlines seem to be forgotten and left to take their costly stands alone.

The influence of TGC and other left leaning evangelical infiltrators is an ever present leaven among groups like Colson, The ERLC and ADF. Everyone seems to be drawing waters (and funding) from the same polluted springs.

More to come soon.

THE TAKING DOWN OF CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN INSTITUTIONS

IN A RECENT AMERICAN THINKER ARTICLE DR. ROBERT LOPEZ COMPILED A SHORT LIST OF THE “LONG MARCH” OF PROGRESSIVE TAKE DOWN OF CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS. WHO IS NEXT AND WHAT IS LEFT?

Rev Thomas Littleton                                                                                                         8/14/2020

America’s conservative Christians have long relied on organizations to represent them in the public square. The CORE concerns of religious liberty, marriage, family and human sexuality have been entrusted by believers to these organizations for YEARS.  Voices from these organizations have spoken for the biblical convictions of believers for decades from local state governments to DC and in national media. But things have changed rapidly and more of these organizations have either taken questionable funds and the poisonous compromise that comes with it,or replaced long time leadership with spineless pillow prophets of the “third way”.

O THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGING

The undeniable reality is that the very leaders and organizations many conservative American’s are looking to represent them are working with and, at times, for THE VERY FORCES  seeking to shape a new identity for Christians in the public square. In short the organizations themselves are seeking to be the agents of change and to redefine what it means to be a conservative Christian.

Saints your gladiators are no longer entering the arena for you. The coordination of the massive and sudden shift makes the existence of unseen forces at work undeniable. Someone is organizing the demise of these organizations and the movement they have represented.

THE LOPEZ ARTICLE

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2020/08/et_tu_falwell_the_lefts_playbook_at_liberty_u.html

Note a partial timeline of right-wing organizations that changed management since 2012:

“We would need multiple articles to detail similar shake-ups of pro-life groupsCatholic organizations, veterans’ organizations, supposedly right-wing mediaTea Party groupscampus conservatism, and of course the entire GOP.”

LETS LOOK AT SOME OF THE ORGANIZATIONS LOPEZ HAS NAMED AND WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THEM.

Lopez points out the problem :

“Such takeovers require startup money.  Funds from corruptible sources like George SorosPaul Singer, and the Koch Brothers poured into the right wing during the 2010s.  The goal was usually to move staunch rightist groups toward:

(1) a leftward or libertarian position;

(2) a hybrid position consisting of staunch anti-socialism mixed with softened positions on social issues; or

(3) a mole/double-agent position, publicly supporting conservatism while secretly sabotaging it.”

Now some specifics:

FOCUS ON THE FAMILY UNDERWENT A SUDDEN AND MASSIVE SHIFT ON CRITICAL FAMILY  ISSUES

New York Times took note of the 2013 shift

Focus on the Family Works to Change Its Message

By

NYT notes that Daly was seeking to “change the tone ”  and distance himself and  FOF from conservative Christian LEADERS of the former generation. This is “message shift” and a clear marketing strategy. With so many doing the same thing and at the same time it is impossible NOT to conclude that forces behind the scenes are driving it.

THE 2015 UNIVERSAL CALL FOR “CIVILITY”.

JIM DALY OF FOCUS ON THE FAMILY IS AN EVER PRESENT NAME ON ANY LIST OF LEADERS CALLING FOR COMPROMISE. BASED MOSTLY ON CHANGING THE TONE ON HOMOSEXUALITY BY CHRISTIANS, CIVILITAS IS JUST ONE EXAMPLE.

“Also signed on to Civilitas are Fuller Seminary, Wheaton College, and BIOLA University leadership. Biola only a few months later invited “gay theology” activist Mathew Vines to their campus and Biola’s apologetics department soon launched a “Rethink” of how apologetics approaches issues like LGBTQ.  Tim Keller of the PCA, Rick Warren of the SBC, Jim Daly of Focus on the Family coupled with the major players of the Obama Faith Based Partnership advisory team are also Civilitas Board members. ”

FAIRNESS FOR ALL A STRATEGIC EFFORT

FAIRNESS FOR ALL IS LEGISLATION SELLING OUT OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM TO BE REDEFINED THROUGH LGBTQ / ISLAM AND OTHER FORCES ANTITHETICAL TO IT. FAIRNESS IS TOUTED AS A RESPONSE TO HRC AND BILLIONAIRE PAUL SINGERS “EQUALITY ACT”.)

There is no compelling reason to think that any common or middle ground exist in such battles over these key issues given the timeless character and unchanging word of God. Christians are being brought to the table to have conversations there are no BIBLICAL  basis for having. Conservative believers are being asked to support efforts and sit quietly in the outer circles of organized “debate”. Christians are being called to agree to and believe the impossible – when the same funders and forces are moving both sides of the “conversations”and their own champions at the table have already been part of negotiating predetermined outcomes.

LGBTQ  and Immigration shape shifting are telling measures of the evangelical compromise foreplay.

FACT CHECK -“FAIRNESS FOR ALL” IS ALSO A PAUL SINGER OPERATION. (MANY OF THOSE EVANGELICAL LEADERS AND ORGANIZATIONS CT ESPOUSES HERE TO BE OPPOSED TO FAIRNESS LEGISLATION ARE ALSO BUSY ERODING CONSERVATIVE OPPOSITION TO COMPROMISE. THINK IT THROUGH IN THE LENS OF THE DIALECTIC PROCESS.

CHRISTIANITY TODAY REPRESENTS THE NEW GUARD AS THE OLD GUARD IN “STRONG OPPOSITION”

“Strong Opposition”

If Christianity Today is calling you “Strong Opposition ” it is likely you are not.

https://www.christianitytoday.com/news/2019/december/fairness-for-all-act-congress-lgbt-religious-liberty.html

FROM THE CT ARTICLE ON FAIRNESS FOR ALL

“The legislation faces strong opposition from LGBT-rights groups who say it enshrines discrimination into law—and from conservative religious groups who say it concedes too much to LGBT-rights groups.”

“Leaders from more than 90 evangelical groups signed a statement rejecting any legislation protecting sexual orientation or gender identity after the CCCU started to advocate for a Fairness for All law in 2016. The list of signers included The Gospel Coalition president D. A. Carson, Focus on the Family president Jim Daly, First Things editor R. R. Reno, and Southern Baptist leaders Russell Moore and Al Mohler.”

“Christians cannot support [Fairness for All] for this overarching reason: It is grounded in an unbiblical conception of the human person,”

“Other evangelical leaders, however, including pastor Tim Keller, legal scholar John Inazu, and CT editor in chief Mark Galli, have argued that a both/and approach is possible. The Fairness for All idea has also received support from some legal scholars, and it has been endorsed by the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A similar law has been enacted in Utah, with the support of the LDS church.”

“If legislators come to think it’s possible to embrace LGBT rights and religious liberty, they may be able to convince voters. Michael Wear, chief strategist for the And Campaign and former faith outreach director for President Barack Obama, said that in a pluralist society where people disagree about very basic things, it’s critical that leaders help people find common ground.”

“Proposing a bill helps voters imagine a different possibility,” Wear said. “It’s like, this is an option. This is on the table. We need to make this conversation more concrete, not less. Voters don’t have an imagination for how it would be possible. It takes leadership to take real risk and show them how it could be.”

“The And Campaign has urged all the 2020 presidential candidates to come out in support of the Fairness for All Act.”

( NOTE: TIM KELLER RECENTLY SURFACED AS AN ELDER HELPING LEAD & CAMPAIGN)

THE DALY DOUBLE

IN 2014 JIM DALY WAS PART OF THE FAILED MOVEMENT TO PRIME THE CONSERVATIVE CHURCH TOWARD LGBTQ COMPROMISE IN THE NAME OF “IMAGO DEI”.

The Imago Dei Campaign: Evangelical Groups Say Gays Made in God’s Image

“The leader behind the movement, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez Jr., president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, says the goal is to change the narrative of evangelical engagement in the public square, especially when it comes to traditional culture war issues. Other heavy hitters have joined him. President of Focus on the Family Jim Daly, televangelist James Robison, producer of The Bible Series Roma Downey and her husband, Survivor producer Mark Burnett, and vice president of the Liberty University Mat Staver have all signed on. The launch of the website was pegged to Martin Luther King Day as a reminder that the Biblical message and justice go hand in hand.”

“The Imago Dei signers are not making a political statement about hot-button issues like gay marriage. But the Imago Dei campaign does mark the first time, Daly says, that Focus on the Family—a group that opposes gay marriage—has publically stated that gays are created in God’s image alongside straight individuals. “People have said love the sinner, hate the sin,” Daly explains. “So often I think that has fallen woefully short, and it certainly appears like we are hating the sinner as well as the sin. And that is the difference—you’ve got to recalibrate and say I know you are made in God’s image, and therefore you deserve my respect.”

“That change in tone is significant for organizations that have used the image of God doctrine to defend their opposition to gay marriage. A position paper still posted on the Focus on the Family website says: “Focus on the Family is dedicated to defending the honor, dignity and value of the two sexes as created in God’s image—intentionally male and female—each bringing unique and complementary qualities to sexuality and relationships.” When asked whether or not that position page would change given the Imago Dei Campaign, Daly did not say, but he clarified that affirming the image of God in people does not condone their behavior.”

FOCUS SHIFT TRACKED EARLY  BY NPR

https://www.npr.org/2012/11/18/165399634/evangelical-leader-suggests-its-time-to-collaborate

“The election has also triggered some soul-searching among evangelical Christian voters. For decades, some in the movement have talked about being under attack for their beliefs in what they see as an increasingly secular country. They say there’s a culture war going on in America, especially over polarizing issues like abortion and gay marriage. Now, one of the movement’s top leaders says it’s time to stop the war rhetoric and start reaching out for compromise.”

( THAT WAS JIM DALY USING ALMOST THE VERY SAME WORDS THAT MONTHS LATER RUSSELL MOORE, AS NEWLY APPOINTED HEAD OF THE SOUTHERN BAPTIST ERLC WOULD ECHO)

“Jim Daly is the president and CEO of Focus on the Family based in Colorado. He stopped by our studios last week during a trip to Washington.”

IMMIGRATION SHIFT

DALY SHIFTS ON IMMIGRATION- ANOTHER PLACE WHERE IT PAYS TO COMPROMISE

https://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2012/juneweb-only/exclusive-jim-daly-on-immigration.html

Exclusive: Focus on the Family’s Jim Daly on a New Stance on Immigration Reform

“Daly explains why he joined a coalition of evangelical leaders when the organization has not taken a public stance on the issue in the past.”
NOTE :With Soros pumping billions into Immigration Reform and pro Islamic policy – the policy shifting of “evangelical shape shifters” has been  looking like cattle being prodded into the auction arena. Focus on the Family, Moore led ERLC, World Relief , World Vision are just a few of those who have been weighed in the balance and sold by the pound.
“0ne of the most eyebrow-raising names to join a group of evangelical leaders to release an “Evangelical Statement of Principles for Immigration Reform” was Jim Daly, president of Focus on the Family. The group has usually shied away from the issue publicly, saying the organization is not an expert in the area. Last year, Christianity Today published a cover story on how the organization has taken a distinctly different tone and emphasis under Daly than it did under its founder, James Dobson. Previously, we have noted how evangelical groups were hesitant to take a stance on immigration, including Focus on the Family. For instance, the Family Research Council, which was founded by Dobson, does not have a representative on today’s list.”

“However, several changes among leadership and priorities have paved the way for other leaders connected with evangelical institutions to take a stance. Other names included Max Lucado, Russell Moore, Margaret Feinberg, J.D. Greear, and Timothy George. Organizations included World Relief, Bread for the World, the Southern Baptist Covention’s Ethics & Public Policy Center, Esperanza, the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, and the National Association of Evangelicals. Daly could not attend the gathering of several evangelical organizations on Tuesday, but longtime Focus staffer Tom Minnery will join the release. On Monday, Daly spoke with CT about why he signed the statement and what it means for the organization.”

FOCUS IN HOUSE NARRATIVE ON IMMIGRATION REFORM

Immigration Reform is a Family Concern

“The time has come for Christians to lead on the issue, which is why I have decided to be part of a diverse coalition of evangelicals committed to finding a bipartisan solution to the current immigration stalemate. After seeking counsel from my colleagues and our Board of Directors and discerning God’s wisdom on the issue, I decided to sign a proposal that I pray will help the country move closer towards true immigration reform.”

“Here’s why I have signed the proposal:

“The topic of immigration reform has become a major issue to families, even naturalized ones who have been here for generations. Their status profoundly affects their stability, structure and quality of life and there’s no denying that the system, as it currently stands, is broken.”

THE AGENCY OF ONCE TRUSTED ORGANIZATIONS IN BRINGING ABOUT SOCIAL CHANGE AMONG CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIANS IS A BETRAYAL OF THAT TRUST.

CONCLUSION

We will look in greater detail at the compromises and the forces inspiring them with some of the other organizations on Dr. Lopez list. The one thing all conservative Christians must now face is that they/we are left alone (without these major organizations support) in the battle for faith and family and freedoms in the public square. While being told by these organizations that we are being marginalized by holding the standard and that we are living in a post Christian America, they neglect to tell us about the significant role they and their organizations have played in the demise of conservative Christian alliances.

Remain faithful. God does not need think tanks, 501 C 3s or men and women who say they stand for Him while opening the back gates of the city to the enemy.

Conservative Christians you may appear to be on your own but you are not.The Lord stands with you if you are standing for His Word… even when these others have forsaken their post.

IN GOD’S ECONOMY STRENGTH IS IN THE FAITHFULNESS OF A FEW.

” Joshua 23: 10 One man of you shall chase a thousand, for the Lord your God is He who fights for you, as He promised you.”

JOSHUA 23 :

( in context)

Therefore be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, lest you turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left, and lest you go[a] among these nations, these who remain among you. You shall not make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause anyone to swear by them; you shall not serve them nor bow down to them, but you shall hold fast to the Lord your God, as you have done to this day. For the Lord has [b]driven out from before you great and strong nations; but as for you, no one has been able to stand against you to this day. 10 One man of you shall chase a thousand, for the Lord your God is He who fights for you, as He promised you. 11 Therefore take careful heed to yourselves, that you love the Lord your God.”

JOHN MACARTHUR FLIRTS WITH PPP MILLIONS YET PREACHES GOVERNMENT DEFIANCE ?

AS PASTOR  JOHN MACARTHUR GARNERS NATIONAL ATTENTION DEFYING GOVERNMENT ORDERS TO KEEP CHURCHES CLOSED DUE TO COVID -19 ….REALITY SURFACES THAT HIS GCC CHURCH WAS SENT MILLIONS IN PPP TAX DOLLARS.

Rev Thomas Littleton                                                                                               8/8/2020

John MacAthur has recently emerged as champion for churches rights to reopen after the Covid-19 fears had shut down churches across the nation. With appearances on Fox News programs Tucker Carlson and Shannon Bream, MacArthur has grabbed headlines and the praise of men for his “bravery” and “standing up” for America’s houses of worship. BUT the idea of counseling rebellion against the government orders not to reopen seems less than “authentic” and down right hypocritical coming from a pastor whose church apparently applied for millions of Covid -19 Cares Act PPP from the Small Business Administration.

In late July MacArthur denies that Grace Community Church “received ” the government funding but indicates the SBA funding had “been sent ” but “was returned” . There is an application process for the Covid Relief PPP funds. The SBA is not simply identifying entities to “send it” to. MacArthur seems confused on many levels about how the PPP process works, how GCC was “sent PPP funding”, and even about the deficit spending of future tax dollars in the Covid bail out funding. We now look deeper into the facts.

Other long term problems exist for the reported $7.3 billion in tax dollars (and counting) that have gone into churches and religious organizations. A second round of borrowed tax dollars may be on the way soon. Some of the issues and serious concerns related to compliance and non discrimination policies and laws of the SBA and all government agencies are discussed here :

https://thirtypiecesofsilver.org/2020/04/07/the-end-of-church-as-we-know-it/

JOHN’S CONTRADICTIONS

In the past John MacArthur has raised concerns among Biblical conservatives for his preaching of total submission to government powers as “ordained by God” . Now his efforts to be the prophetic voice defending the rights of churches being considered “essential ” and allowed to reopen is clouded by his past ultra submissiveness teachings and now by his own obligations to the government as a Small Business Administration applicant.

In an April interview with GTY associate Phil Johnson,MacArthur called for submission to the government  in the presentation of “Think Biblically About  to Covid -19 Pandemic”

https://www.gty.org/library/sermons-library/GTY176/thinking-biblically-about-the-covid19-pandemic-an-interview-with-john-macarthur

“JOHN: Well, first of all, the clear demand of Scripture is  to be subject to the powers that be because they’re ordained of God.”

“PHIL: Romans 13.”

“JOHN: Romans 13. And 1 Peter talks about the same thing: “Honor the king and those who are in authority over you.” God has set them in that authority. The apostle Paul tells Timothy that we’re to be good citizens. We’re to live a quiet and peaceable life. We aren’t rebels; we don’t start protests; we don’t defy the government. We conform. We’re submissive to the government as basically ordained by God. So that was an easy call for us.”

“What would have made a difference would have been if this was persecution of the church, if all of a sudden the government decided to shut down churches as an act of persecution against churches we would defy that because now you’re into Acts 5 where Peter actually says, “Do we obey God or men?” You say we don’t meet, God says we must meet. You say don’t preach the gospel, we say we must preach the gospel. So when the government gets to the point where it basically persecutes the church, the church has to take that persecution and still do what God has commanded the church to do.”

“The other thing that we talked about with the elders was if we defy this and if we say we’re going to meet anyway, we run the risk of exposing people to this illness needlessly. And why would we want to do that? Because this is a health issue, this is a health crisis. And since like any church, many of the people in our church are older. We wouldn’t want to expose them to that. We’ve only had, as far as I know, and this was up to yesterday, we’ve only had one couple in our church in the Spanish ministry who actually got the coronavirus. But that couple, and not an older couple either, wound up in the hospital because it was such a virulent experience for them.”

WILL THE REAL JOHN MACARTHUR PLEASE STATE “YOUR FINAL ANSWER”?

Instead of explaining the gap between his previous position and his current defiance, MacArthur has taken to the airways in secular media. It is assumed from his previous position and interview that he now sees the government as “persecuting ” his church yet the church was approved for millions in SBA Covid PPP funds.

Even if MacArthur’s Grace Community Church returned the Cares Act PPP funds the application processing make the church, in effect, a government contractor being the approved for federal  government agency funds .This status comes with all kinds of strings and compliance issues attached especially related to employment non discrimination like the LGBTQ civil rights protections already in federal agencies policies since the Obama era and reinforced by the recent SCOTUS  employment non-discrimination ruling. GCC would be obligated for years to the SBA, not only to employment numbers, but  also to hiring particular sexual minorities along these new mandated discrimination boundaries.

Alex Newman  explains more in his article here:

https://www.thenewamerican.com/culture/faith-and-morals/item/35464-amid-covid-19-deep-state-moves-in-for-the-kill-against-churches

MACARTHUR AND HIS CHURCHES APPROVED PPP MILLIONS

MacArthur revealed his church WAS “SENT” the PPP funds. How did this happen? He denied receiving it but who applied for it?

If MacArthur and GCC returned the PPP money for some concerns realized after the fact- why would he not then sound and alarm and warn other churches to refuse or return it?

Instead MacArthur chooses to grandstand by defying state closure orders and playing his GCC  confused PPP facts close to the vest.

https://www.foxnews.com/media/california-pastor-coronavirus-church-newsom-order?

Fox News Interview :

“California Gov. Gavin Newsom is overstepping his executive privileges with “draconian” restrictions by shutting down churches and telling believers they cannot worship during the coronavirus pandemic, a prominent pastor told “Fox News @ Night” Monday.”

“Pastor John MacArther says he has been warned he could face fines or arrest for defying Newsom’s July orders by hosting indoor services at Grace Community Church in Los Angeles County, which he says is not warranted by the reality of COVID-19.”

REALITY CHECK

MacArthur has draw criticism through the years for his peculiar form of Pietism and non political engagement. Recent flip flops represented in particular by his CURRENT defiance of California law have been discussed at length on Christian radio and television media of WVW.

“John MacArthur has spent over 20 years writing books, articles and delivering sermons that included hurling insults at conservative American patriots for what he denounced as their Christian activism. In fact, MacArthur has declared in his book, Why Government Can’t Save You, that America’s Founding Fathers sinned and violated New Testament principles when they founded America. MacArthur has written that no matter how cruel or unjust Christians must submit to governing authorities because they are ordained of God and thus to disobey them is to disobey God. MacArthur uses a twisted interpretation of Romans 13 and 2 Peter to come to this conclusion. In July of 2020, without any apology to Christian patriots to whom he hurled insults and names, and without any public retraction of his years of written and spoken propaganda and disinformation, MacArthur now practices the very thing he once condemned. Dr. Andy Woods is a seminary president, pastor and trained attorney. He joins Brannon to discuss the troubling contradictions in MacArthur’s public ministry is marked by years of bad theology and flip flops that should have any thinking Christian questioning the discernment of John MacArthur.”

GCC ANNOUNCEMENTS

MacArthur video to GCC  members on July 31st 2020 .

In the video at minute 3 MacArthur says  that the government sent us (GCC) money but we sent it back”. Yet the funding must be APPLIED FOR  and the SBA is not simply”sending it out”. According to MacArthur in the late July video neither GCC nor GTY have received the government funding yet the  bank through which the funding came and the date the application was approved are included in the report of the PPP funding.

Here is the full transcript of the confusing account by MacArthur and the PPP funds sent to GCC.

““I’ve been hearing around that Grace received money from the federal government in this recent display of government generosity which sent money to a lot of businesses and a lot of places. The truth of the matter is that they did send us money. We did not receive that money, we sent it back. So we have received no money at all from the government, and you need to know that because people are talking about that and it’s not accurate.””

What happened is, I think the government put a lot of folks on their list that money was going to go to and never bothered to change the list, but we did not receive a dime from the federal government, and neither did Grace to You, for that matter.”

MACARTHUR  MISCHARACTERIZED  THE PURPOSE AND THE PROCESS.

THE COVID PPP FUNDING IS NOT “GOVERNMENT GENEROSITY” ON DISPLAY BUT IS PART OF AN SBA PROGRAM FOR LOANS ,WHICH, IF FOLLOWED TO DETAILED COMPLIANCE, CAN BE CONVERTED TO GRANTS.

THE PPP FUNDING IS TO AID BUSINESSES IMPACTED BY THE PANDEMIC TO RETAIN EMPLOYEES .

MANY REFORMED SEMINARIES HAVE TAKEN MILLIONS IN PPP

According one of  the same websites  which tracked the PPP funding that went to MacArthurs GCC , many reformed seminaries like Reformed Theological Seminary,          (Jackson MS) Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary , Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and John Pipers Bethlehem Seminary have taken millions of dollars each in Cares Act PPP funds.

MASTERS UNIVERSITY AND SEMINARY AND COVID -19 AND PPP

It is not yet known if John MacArthur’s The Master’s University  and Seminary (TMUS) have received PPP funds. Or if any other GCC led entities have taken the PPP dollars.

TMUS does have an extensive Covid -19 response plan in place as students are scheduled to return in late August at the same time GCC is defying state orders.

MACARTHUR PROMOTES SUBMISSION WHILE HE COUNSELS REBELLION

HE PREACHES FAITH IN CHRIST WHILE  GCC WAS SENT GOVERNMENT MILLIONS FOR BAIL OUT?

HOW WAS THE PPP FUNDING SENT IF IT WAS NOT APPLIED FOR? IF IT WAS, THEN WHO APPLIED FOR IT ? HAS THE GCC COVID BAILOUT FUNDING ACTUALLY BEEN RETURNED OR IS THERE CONFUSION AS TO ITS CURRENT STATUS? THE FACTS, IN THE END, ARE STILL UNCLEAR.

IF MACARTHUR WISHES TO HELP THE BODY OF CHRIST PERHAPS HE CAN OFFER FURTHER CLARIFICATION ON HOW/ WHY THE PPP FUNDS WERE SENT AND PROOF THAT GCC HAS RETURNED THEM. THEN SOUND THE ALARM ON WHY OTHER CHURCHES SHOULD DO THE SAME.

MATTHEW 23

23: 1  Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments. They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues, greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi.’ But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren. Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. 10 And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. 11 But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

According one of  the same websites  which tracked the PPP funding that went to MacArthurs GCC , many reformed seminaries like Reformed Theological Seminary,          (Jackson MS) Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary , Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and John Pipers Bethlehem Seminary have taken millions of dollars each in Cares Act PPP funds.

https://projects.propublica.org/coronavirus/bailouts/search?q=Masters+University+and+Seminary+

LAYING SIEGE TO CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

The war against conservative values moves from Christian college campuses, to private K-12 schools. Is homeschooling next?

AFTER THE SOCIAL JUSTICE WOKE CULTURE HAS ALL BUT DESTROYED
SEMINARIES AND TWO MAJOR CONSERVATIVE DENOMINATIONS, BAPTIST
EDUCATORS TAKE AIM AT INFILTRATING CHRISTIAN EDUCATION WITH NEW
IACE  CHRISTIAN ED. UMBRELLA.

Rev Thomas Littleton                                                                                                     7/31/2020

In 2019, David Dockery ,a highly respected Reformed Southern Baptist scholar, moved to the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary campus of ousted conservative resurgence leader Paige Patterson. In the latest dispatches from the campus we find out that Dockery will launch an “alliance” for Christian education that holds grim tidings for the future of Christians schools.
You may recall that in 2018, various belligerent camps in the Southern Baptist Convention allied with the Washington Post and social media mobs to smear the previous president, Paige Patterson, as a misogynist. Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission president and ERLC fellow. Karen Swallow Prior both joined in on the action, with Prior amassing a small army of Baptist women petitioning the trustees to take action against Patterson.
Two years have passed since that upheaval, and now we see the poisonous fruit of Karen
Swallow Prior’s #MeToo campaign. Judging from subsequent events, the campaign turns out not to have had much to do with social justice after all. In February 2019, Adam Greenway came to Fort Worth to replace Patterson as president. After firing dozens of faculty, claiming a budget crisis (which his administration blamed on Patterson), Greenway then hired a number of new faculty, many from Albert Mohler’s Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (not coincidentally, the last place Greenway had worked).
In addition, Greenway hired David Dockery. And now that Dockery has had almost a year on campus to situate himself, the reason for his hiring has become much clearer. Dockery is launching a Christian education enterprise to be based on Southwestern’s campus, which will dole out prizes to the very people who led the #MeToo charge against Patterson and paved the way for Dockery’s patron, Greenway, to assume the presidency at the seminary. Russell Moore and Karen Swallow Prior will both be “fellows” of this new institute. Payback?
One can’t help but bring to mind Romans 1:30 ” slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil…” Once given over to their own distorted thoughts, people who replace the truth with falsehoods never stop plotting and scheming.

The fact that the new leaders of SWBTS were long-time employees and operatives of SBTS President Albert Mohler should prompt some concern. SBTS is at the core of controversial teachings which have given rise to Woke/Social  Justice/ Revoice  movements in supposedly conservative churches. Respected Scholars like Dockery and Mohler seem to move seamlessly between their advocacy for Biblical inerrancy and politically popular and trendy things like wokeness and Social Justice.

The Reformer

IVORY TOWER SYNDROME

Perhaps it is a type of academic ” IVORY TOWER SYNDROME” that allows such men to espouse one thing theologically while doing the exact opposite with their influential voices and organizations in Christian education. Perhaps voicing support of Biblical inerrancy is not the same as understanding the necessity of simple obedience to all that the Word of God commands. It appears fair to say that “a DOUBLE MINDED SCHOLAR is unstable in all his ways.”

International Alliance for Christian Education to launch in January 2020

Dockery has launched a new institute called the International Alliance for Christian Education. Its plans were announced in a November 2019 press release you can read below:

https://iace.education/news/iace-to-launch-january-2020

“The IACE’s work will cross several boundaries within Christian education, connecting primary and secondary schools, gap year programs, Bible colleges, Christian liberal arts colleges and comprehensive universities, as well as seminaries and educationally focused parachurch organizations. Campus enrollments within the IACE membership range from 250 to more than 10,000 students.”

“Representatives from each one of those sectors are present with us in this room today and they are all committed to the shared work of this alliance,” Dockery said. “As far as I know, this has not taken place before at this scale.” With that in mind, IACE Board of Reference member Robert C. Andringa said he sees the alliance “filled with audacious hope.”

https://iace.education/news/iace-to-launch-january-2020

“The International Alliance for Christian Education (IACE) is a global education network encompassing a variety of educational institutions and organizations in the evangelical tradition. The emergence and vital kingdom importance of Christian education as a global phenomenon calls for Christian educators in every global region and at all educational levels to affirm and unite around their mutual commitments to Christ-centeredness and confessional solidarity.”

https://iace.education/blog/what-is-iace
The main basis for concern with this new organization is two fold:

1st -Many of those in IACE leadership are also part of The Gospel Coalition -the epicenter for serious controversies among Conservative Christians in the last three years.

2nd- IACE is seeking to be a massive umbrella organization for Christian Education and has already pulled many respected organizations into its sphere of influence.

SOME BACKGROUND ON THE GOSPEL COALITION AND CHRISTIAN
EDUCATION
For three years now The Social Justice and Woke movement in conservative evangelical circles has been raising concerns about our seminaries. In two 2016 researched articles titled “Is This The Evangelical Deep State” this writer exposed the origins of much of the coordinated push for social justice-driven economics teaching with organizations like The Gospel Coalition (TGC), curriculum provided by Catholic-led Acton Institute, and funding from Kern Family Foundation ( KFF). As revealed in the book “The New Evangelical Social Engagement” this partnership had spread to over 13 seminaries and an admitted half a dozen Christian colleges and universities. Now those numbers are much higher and growing. Also, through the newly formed IACE, it is about to spread throughout Christian education at every level.

NOTE: IN AN EMAIL EXCHANGE AN IACE LEADER CONFIRMED THAT KERN
FAMILY FOUNDATION IS ONE OF THE ORGANIZATIONS WHOSE GRANTS IACE
LEADERS HOPE WILL PROVE A GOOD “FIT FOR KERN FUNDING”.

TGC is the main vehicle through which these influences have been solidified in the seminaries of several conservative Presbyterian denominations and the Southern Baptist Convention.

The New Evangelical Social Engagement

Kern Family Foundation, which provides the funding discussed in the book linked above,
oversees its grant implementation through the Oikonomia (meaning Stewardship) Network. This is on the same campus as TGC’s home base, TIU, from which the new IACE president David Dockery has recently retired as (undergraduate programs) president. Oikonomia partners, or grant-recipient schools are listed and discussed here:

Our Partner Schools

Other partnering  organizations are listed here which include major IACE partner The  Colson Center.

Other Partners

Other Partners

“In addition to our partner schools, the Oikonomia Network has partnerships with indivdual faculty, as well as affiliate and global partners.”

“Individual Faculty Partners”

“Individual faculty partners are evangelical theological educators who demonstrate commitment to the ON mission in their teaching, research and other activities. For more details, see here.

Affiliate Partners

“Affiliate partners of the ON are Christian organizations operating primarily in North America that are missionally aligned with the ON and in a mutually serving relationship with us.”

“Our affiliate partners are:
o Consortium of Christian Study Centers
 Colson Center for Christian Worldview
 Made to Flourish
 Ron Blue Institute
 Sevensided Consulting
 Theology of Work Project (also a global partner)

OIKONOMIA AND RACIAL JUSTICE INTHE TIME OF BLM
Oikonomia has taken a staunch racial justice stand during the recent resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Examples of recent articles can be seen here:

These evangelical institution partnerships and the efforts and forces behind it have decidedly political impacts and focuses as well.

KFF has funded Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary’s Intersect Project as well as the third way political engagement book of former SEBTS provost Bruce Ashford ,who as we shall see, is a supporter and speaker for IACE events.

http://intersectproject.org/news/intersect-conference-helps-church-leaders-link-faith-culture/

“Intersect is a partnership between the Kern Family Foundation and SEBTS that seeks to educate people to engage the intersection of faith, culture, work and economics so that they can equip others and be empowered to glorify God. The Intersect Conference connects pastors and leaders to work together to bring faith to bear on all areas of culture, work and economics.”
IACE HOST INSTITUTION -SWBTS  RACIAL PURGE OF 2019
MEANWHILE SWBTS WHERE IACE IS BEING HOUSED PURGED VIRTUALLY ALL OF
ITS MINORITY PROFESSORS.

SWBTS began its wayward mission and trajectory after the seeds of the KFF and Oikonomia Network funding had been established on campus there. This was several years before “purges “began at SWBTS.

Over an 18-month period after Albert Mohlers SBTS team took over at SWBTS. Virtually all conservative minority staff and faculty were fired. Dr. Robert Oscar Lopez was among those targeted for intimidation and threats but survived the first wave of purges (in April 2019).

But Dr. Lopez was still in a perilous place among the new "conservative" leadership at SWBTS. His firing was swift and brutal once he stood his ground for academic faithfulness. By the summer of 2020, the web pages of Southwestern showed that Rudy Gonzalez, Leo Day, Steven Ortiz, Robert Lopez, and Gerard Alfaro had all disappeared from the faculty listing, representing cadre of highly qualified Black and Latino faculty put in place under Paige Patterson. Daniel Sanchez appears to be listed as an emeritus faculty. Many white males from Southern were hired as these Black and Latino faculty were being purged; they were enough to show that Greenway fired minorities and replaced them with white men, even in the midst of a national upheaval over racism.

The Purge: SWBTS Insider tells all

A LOOK AT SOME OF IACE LEADERS AND FELLOWS
Let’s look back at recent history. Karen Swallow Prior was a full partner in the efforts to oust Paige Patterson and clear the way for the Mohler team and the establishment of IACE at SWBTS.
The “Purge’s” first casualty at SWBTS was "Conservative Resurgence" leader and seminary president Paige Patterson in a wave of  #MeToo attacks organized in a way similar to the strategies used to take out conservative US Senate candidate Roy Moore. Forces now deep within the IACE leadership, using voices like Karen Swallow Prior and Albert Mohler, pushed for Patterson’s removal from SWBTS leadership.

Prior’s role with the Patterson attacks can be seen in CT story below:

https://www.christianitytoday.com/news/2018/may/paige-patterson-swbts-letter-southern- baptist-women-sbc.html

“As Kate Shellnut describes it,”The letter comes from scores of Southern Baptist women, including leaders such as: Karen Swallow Prior, a Liberty University professor and research fellow with the Ethics and Religious Liberty Convention; Lauren Chandler, an author, worship singer, and wife of The Village Church pastor Matt Chandler; Jennifer Lyell, a vice president at SBC-affiliated B & H Publishing Group…”

(Chandler’s Village Church has since ,in 2019,  had major sexual scandal a cover up of it’s own along with a lawsuit being field against the church and its leaders )

Prior recently took a position at TGC-affiliated Kern-funded SEBTS and is among the IACE
Fellows. So after helping purge Paige Patterson, she has landed an influential place in the IACE Fellows. To say Prior is a controversial figure in Southern Baptist circles is putting it mildly as her often edgy and pro-LGBTQ inclusion public posturing have ended in calls for her to be removed from SBC leadership as an ERLC Fellow.
Recently Prior endorsed the controversial Revoice movement for LGBT+ thriving in the church from the moment of its 2018 launch. Her boss at ERLC, Russell Moore, who is also an IACE Fellow deflected and denied any knowledge of the Revoice controversy in the 2018 SBC annual meetings in Dallas. During a question & answer session, Moore was asked about Prior’s endorsement of Revoice but he responded by talking about Prior’s injuries from a bus accident.

Albert Mohler

SBTS President, Albert Mohler, is among the IACE Fellows. He is a TGC leader. He has
accepted Kern/Acton curriculum in his Common Weal Project on the SBTS campus since 2014. Mohler also educated and employed the founder of the LGBT+ Revoice (Nathan Collins) and has remained at the epicenter of the Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality /Resolution 9 controversies in the SBC. He educated and employed several of the activist SBTS professors who turned a 2019 resolution submitted to the SBC, condemning CTR and intersectionality, into an affirmation of the Cultural Marxist tools of the trade as "useful to the Gospel.”

Russell Moore

IACE Fellow Russell Moore is one of the most celebrated disciples of Albert Mohler. Moore’s time as head of the ERLC has been fraught with controversy as he openly associated with the Obama administration while leading attacks on then candidate Trump. Moore is a long time Mississippi Democrat whose political ambitions now manifest in his ERLC leadership role.
Moore took on Karen Swallow Prior as an ERLC Fellow and defended her in the Revoice
controversy while denying any knowledge of it. Moore is the object of a current investigation by the Executive Committee of the SBC which is the second time his political positions have impacted SBC giving and put him under scrutiny. Moore’s recent ERLC political engagement document calling for civility was drafted by a Georgetown professor using research from a New Age think tank. Moore has been working openly with Soros-funded, pro-Islamic immigration reform advocacy with Obama Foundation spokesperson and TGC contributor Michael Ware in recurrent Trinity Forum events over the last 3-4 years. Moore works with the radicals from the Paul Singer-backed “& Campaign”, and the NAE/CCCU partners. Together they advocate for Islamic religious freedoms and LGBTQ compromise through their program called Fairness For All.

Moore’s political challenges and fringe activities will one day likely be the cause of his removal at the ERLC. But because of the free hand that was given to him since 2013, most of the damage is already done in setting the Baptist political ideals of the next generation of pastors. ERLC messaging coordination during the Moore administration has come straight from the Acton/ Kern/TGC inner circle with ERLC employment of Acton and TGC long-time editor Joe Carter.

D A Carson

D.A. Carson is the co-founder of TGC and in the IACE leadership. Carson is also at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School ( TEDS )where IACE President Dockery led the undergraduate TIU. Carson has played a major role in shaping the mission and reach of TGC into major seminaries. The heavy media presence of TGC using editors from deep within the Acton /Kern machine, and the once massive TGC conference events have made way for the TGC influence to reshape pulpits and Christian higher education and even church curriculum globally. Carson was also instrumental in commissioning and editing a whitepaper for TGC straight from the heart of the American Psychological Associations for use as the Gold Standard on LGBTQ in both TGC and the “Christ on Campus Initiative.”  The latter has heavily impacted Intervarsity/ CRU/ RUF and other campus-based ministries. Carson has enjoyed widespread, unquestioned influence among Reformed Christians churches and institutions with his TGC co-founder Tim Keller. Only in recent years has the fruit of their work been brought under scrutiny with the sweeping damage of critical theories and social justice within once conservative denominations. One long time industry partner of Carson privately described him last year as a "committed Canadian socialist”.

IACE TAKES ON THE FINAL FRONTIER -DOWN THE LADDER OF CHRISTIAN
EDUCATION

“A new Christian education network is poised to serve on a global scale. This new network, with nearly 60 charter members, is the International Alliance for Christian Education (IACE), and it will encompass a variety of educational institutions and organizations in the evangelical tradition.”

“We believe that the emergence and vital kingdom importance of Christian education as a global phenomenon calls for Christian educators in every global region and at all educational levels to affirm and unite around their mutual commitments to Christ-centeredness and confessional solidarity. Functioning as a network more so than an organization, IACE will seek to create collaborative partnerships and alliances to help connect all sectors of Christian education in a comprehensive manner in order to encourage people to work in a cooperative manner to address common challenges shared by all sectors.”
“As IACE Board Chair Ralph Enlow has so aptly stated, “IACE will seek to unify, synergize, and strengthen collective conviction around biblical orthodoxy and orthopraxy, cultural witness, scholarship, professional excellence, and resourcing of Christian education at all levels.” IACE will seek to provide enablement, connections, and collaborative opportunities for the various aspects of Christian education from early education through doctoral programs. Representatives from primary and secondary schools, gap year programs, Bible colleges, Christian comprehensive universities, divinity schools, and seminaries, in addition to organizations committed to intellectual discipleship and the support of Christian educational entities can be found among the charter members.”
“Those involved with IACE certainly recognize the existence of outstanding educational associations that already specialize in various areas of Christian education. The work of IACE is not intended to compete with or supplant such organizations. IACE will seek to be a network that represents all sectors of Christian education globally, complementing and partnering with existing organizations whenever possible. At the same time, IACE will be more focused than some other Christian education networks in light of the exclusive confessional composition of its institutions and partners.”

INAUGURAL SPEAKER
BRUCE ASHFORD SEBTS
https://iace.education/blog/renewal-in-christian-higher-education-transpherical-transdisciplinary- transnational Renewal in Christian Higher Education: Transpherical, Transdisciplinary,  Transnational.
Bruce R. Ashford, Jr.
1. “The approach of Christian educators must be transcultural, or, “trans-spherical.”
The essential point I want to make is that the comprehensive nature of secularization must be met with an equally comprehensive response.”

“We must not neglect or minimize the significance of any single sphere of culture.
What do I mean by “sphere”?
 I am drawing upon the great Dutch theologian, educator and political leader, Abraham
Kuyper.
 Different “kinds” of culture
 Center and circumference
o Religion (direction of heart)
o State (justice)
o Art (aesthetics)
o Marriage/family (procreation)
o Church (disciple members / witness to world)

“Sphere sovereignty serves as a sort of divinely-ordained system of “checks and balances”:
 Not at political level (by dispersing gov’t power)
 But at the ontological level (by dispersing cultural power).
A decade from now, I think we will all look back and see the significance of this organization and the prophetic foresight and leadership exercised by David Dockery and others.”
Bruce Ashford, Provost, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary
Ashford SPOKE at inaugural meeting.

“Bruce Ashford, provost at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, addressed cultural, intercultural and international engagement in the final session.”
“Ashford called on the IACE to pursue opportunities to advance a gospel message worldwide that are unique to colleges and universities.” “We should have a humble optimism,” Ashford said. “Jesus lived in the middle of a pagan empire and was able to speak the truth to power. He did so with a humble confidence. “We can be confident too because Christ will return.” Ashford quoted recent estimates that indicate 700 million Christians will reside in Africa by 2025, with 650 million Christians in South America in the same time frame. He suggested many Christians in the global South and East have strong commitments to the authority of Scripture, and the IACE can build on that emerging international foundation.
“The global east and south believe the Bible,” Ashford said.

IACE TIES TO THE DEEPLY COMPROMISED CCCU.
The CCCU is already one of the most adrift organizations in Christian education as they have embraced the Paul Singer-funded and Mormon-led Fariness for All movement compromising religious freedoms with LGBTQ “rights” and the current CCCU head is working with Neighborly Faith,” a Christian – Muslim dialog on Christian  campuses  exposing Christians to Islamic propaganda dialog which is in fact promoting the “rights” of Islamic expansion in the West.

Andringa, President Emeritus, Council for Christian Colleges & Universities.”Having our various Christian education sectors linked together through IACE as an ongoing network holds promise for making our united movement and each sector much more effective as we collectively or individually face challenges.”

Beach Atlantic University, and Wingate University. A decade from now, I think we will all look back and see the significance of this organization and the prophetic foresight and leadership exercised by David Dockery and others.”

IACE FUNDING THUS FAR
“Funding: IACE members pay an annual membership fee for the services provided, which in turn help to fund the work of the alliance.”
“In addition, start-up gifts and annual donations are helping to launch the initiative. Additional funding stems from the gifts and grants of friends, donors, churches, and other partners.”

WHAT KIND OF REACH WILL IACE HAVE IF ALLOWED TO INFECT ALL
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION?
THIS MOVEMENTS’ CENTRALIZED POWERS WILL IMPACT CHRISTIAN
EDUCATION, PASTORAL TRAINING, MISSIONARY DEVELOPMENT , CURRICULUM
AND DISCIPLESHIP IN OUR INSTITUTIONS AND OUR CHURCHES.

TRULY CONSERVATIVE ACADEMICS ARE IN TROUBLE – WHERE WILL ANY OF
THOSE UNWILLING TO COMPROMISE DEEPLY HELD BIBLICAL CONVICTIONS
FIND JOBS ONCE THESE LIBERAL FORCES PREVAIL?

CONCLUSION
No area of Christian solidarity with Biblical fidelity and true conservative conviction is more important than Christian education. On its altars, like the promised seed of Abraham, lay our own children, our future pastors and missionaries and Christian leaders. Our own heritage and posterity are at stake as is Western Christian culture and the celebration and defense of our Constitution, freedoms, independence, prosperity and our faith. Those who have already seriously endangered and infected our Christian colleges, universities, and seminaries now seek to own Christian education as well and by owning it- they will be allowed to own us and our children and their futures.
