TIME PUFF PIECE FOR BAPTIST RUSSELL MOORE WRITTEN BY AUTHOR OF SIMILAR ARTICLE ON PLANNED PARENTHOOD DEPARTING EXECUTIVE

RUSSELL MOORE REMAINS AN OUTSPOKEN CRITIC OF CONSERVATIVE BAPTIST WHO VOTED FOR DOANLD TRUMP. IN THE WAKE OF THE BIDEN INAUGURATION A TIME MAGAZINE EDITOR WHO HAD HIGH PRAISE FOR PP’s CECILE RICHARDS IS LAUDING THE LONELY BATTLE OF “GOD’S LOBBYIST “

Russell Moore is no stranger to politics or controversy or attacks on Donald Trump of his supporters among the Christian base. Moore is also no stranger to high praise and accolades of the liberal press but an article by Time editor Belinda Luscombe does take it over the top for Moore going into the new administration. Luscombe’s similar praise for Planned Parenthood’s long time head Cecile Richards makes any thinking person question why.

“Theologian Russell Moore Has a Message for Christians Who Still Worship Donald Trump

“Many Christian leaders and thinkers decried the attack on the Capitol, but few went as far as Moore; he laid the blame squarely at the feet of a man many evangelicals believe to be their hero: President Trump. “This week we watched an insurrection of domestic terrorists,” Moore wrote, “incited and fomented by the President of the United States.” When asked about that statement during an interview from his book-lined Brentwood, Tenn., home office a week later, he doubles down….”

“It’s–it’s been lonely,” says Moore of his stance. “But I think many people have experienced that sort of loneliness over the past four or five years. I don’t know a single family that’s not been divided over President Trump, and politics generally. I don’t know a single church that hasn’t been.” Moore’s opinions are not new. He has been a Never Trumper since at least 2015 and scoffs at the notion put forward by many evangelical leaders that Trump converted to Christianity just before being elected. “It is not a position that I find rational,” he says. “Especially when Mr. Trump has been very clear about his own spiritual journey, or lack thereof.”

“The usually mild-mannered author’s stance has come at a cost. He says both he and his family have been the subject of threats and that people have tried to dig up information that would prove he is a liberal. (Heaven forfend!) In February 2020, the executive committee of the SBC formed a task force to look into whether the ERLC was fulfilling its “ministry assignment” after 100 or so churches withheld their giving, citing Moore’s political positions.”

“Moore’s loneliness is of a particular sort, however, since unlike most of Trump’s most vocal critics, he is a dyed-in-the-wool social conservative, staunchly opposed to same-sex marriage, abortion and premarital sex, and he has worked to limit the spread of the first two. (He acknowledges he’s walking into a cold breeze on the third.) In a way, he is a weather vane for the cold front much of the evangelical church is now facing. What is the future for a group that preaches truth, peace and moral living, after it gambles all its chips on a man who embodies none of those but will play along–and loses?”

MOORE AND HIS PRO LIFE STAND

Moore is obligated to show a strong pro life stand as the head of Baptist ERLC but has drawn sharp criticism of his efforts to broaden the meaning of prolife to include other leftward agendas like “Refugee” resettlement and ” Immigration Reform” while working with the Soros funded National Immigration Forums Evangelical Round Table pushing that political agenda. NOTE :SBC entities are poised to cash in on Refugee $$$ very soon under the new admins policies.

Moore also has sought to “Redefine the Family” calling in his 2018 book and conference themed around it to “refine the Church as ones family” and even hosted a gay priest to echo the language of radical feminist theologians that the “Nuclear Family is an Idol” and must be redefined .

BUT WHY IS A TIME EDITOR SEEING VIRTUE IN BAPTIST ETHICST RUSSELL MOORE WHILE HER OBVIOUS LOYALTIES POLITICALLY SUPPORT PLANNED PARENTHOOD’S LONG TIME PRESIDENT LAUDING HER DESIRE TO STILL MAKE TROUBLE?

“Outgoing Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards Is Not Done Fighting

FROM THE MARCH 2018 ARTICLE

“For one of the most vilified women in America, Cecile Richards is very warm. She’s self-deprecating, lively and attentive to guests. She apologizes for the terrible coffee an assistant brings from the office machine but drinks it anyway. Her mascara is a little smudged over her right eye. She looks down when thinking; it’s not effortless for her. She’s human.”

“But until May, when she decamps her post, Richards is also the president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, an organization that provokes only strong feelings in people. Reliable surveys show that most citizens do not believe Roe v. Wade should be overturned. Other equally reliable surveys show that most Americans answer no when asked if a woman should be able to get an abortion “for any reason.” And almost 20% of voters told Gallup in 2015 they could only vote for a candidate who shared their views on abortion. So Richards has been hailed both as “an extraordinary leader in vertiginous times” (by the editor of the Nation) and “the most vile person currently walking this planet” (by a writer for RedState).”

IN A RESPONSE TO A QUESTION ABOUT IMMIGRATION AND DREAMERS NOTED IN THE ARTICLE- IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE TO CREDIT MUCH OF THE RESPONSE BY RICHARDS TO MOORE.

“Last year, after the latest attempt to defund her organization had been turned back, Richards was at a celebration in Nashville. She had just finished thanking the crowd for all its work when an audience member raised his hand and asked what now could be done for the Dreamers, the undocumented children who grew up in the U.S. but are not citizens. “I had assumed that they were going to go, ‘This is great because I’ve got to take a break,’” she says. Instead, people were coming together not over a single issue but because of a set of shared values. They were massing to protect a certain bigger vision of America. “It’s different than any time I can remember in my lifetime,” says Richards. That’s the kind of barometric indicator that no organizer can resist.”

CONCLUSION

We get it that Russell Moore is excited that Donald Trump is out and that his parties candidate is now in the White House once again. Baptist who observe him expected as much. BUT why is a Time Magazine editor who wrote such a “lovely ” piece about Planned Parenthood’s long time leader – finding so much VIRTUE IN THE “Pro Life ” Baptist Russell Moore? it’s going to be some strange days ahead for Believers.
