LIGON DUNCAN CLAIMS HE “AIN’T GROOVING WITH NO CULTURAL MARXISM” BUT IS JEMAR TISBY MENTOR

Even as the events of January 6th 2021 remain under investigation and after many alternative media investigations proved the narratives of CNN/ MSNBC / Capitol Hill to be false- a new group of professing Christian leaders proclaim that (white) Christians who supported Donald Trump are responsible . The new report is entitled-

CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM AND THE JANUARY 6TH 2021 INSURECTION

“The Christianity was one of the surprises
to me in covering this stuff, and it has been hugely
underestimated,” ( One of those quoted said) . “That Christian nationalism you
talk about ( in the report ) is the driving force and also the unifying force
of these disparate players. It’s really Christianity that ties it
all together.”

THE REPORT ASSERTS

“Christian nationalism was
the “driving force”
An NPR journalist who is an expert in American extremist
groups was struck by the diversity of the extremism
that day:
Am I going to see an Oath Keeper? OK, there’s an
Oath Keeper. Am I going to see the Three Percent
logo? Definitely saw some of them there. Qanon,
huge presence at this one. I saw neo-Confederates
in the crowd, all sorts of white supremacist and neoNazi insignia, too. And all of the strands of American
extremism were there in the same crowd. And what’s
wilder is that they were in the same crowd with, you
know, a grandmother from Arizona, you know, who
fervently believes in her heart that the election was
stolen and that her vote didn’t matter.193
Yes, the groups were diverse. But it was the Christian
nationalism that united them that day”

TISBY HISTORY WITH LIGON DUNCAN HEAD OF RTS

Reformed Theological Seminary

June 25, 2015

Tisby Appointed Director of AALI

“Reformed Theological Seminary is pleased to announce the appointment of Jemar Tisby (BA Notre Dame ‘02, RTS Jackson MDiv ’15, JSU MA cand, SBTS PhD cand) as the first Director of the African American Leadership Initiative (AALI) at RTS Jackson and Special Assistant to the Chancellor. As Director, Jemar will be responsible for discipling students in the program as well as recruiting and networking. As Special Assistant to the Chancellor, he will work with the Chancellor to increase African American engagement and enrollment at RTS and cultivate biblical diversity and inclusion. He begins his new position on July 1.”

“RTS Chancellor Ligon Duncan says, “I am thrilled that Jemar Tisby has accepted this key role here at RTS. He is a man I trust. I count him as a dear friend. Jemar is an educator (a former school teacher and principal) and a churchman (having served under the extraordinary Mike Campbell at Redeemer Church here in Jackson). His commitment to the inerrancy of Scripture, the Reformed faith and the gospel ground all his efforts towards our honoring the image of God in all people.”

“In recent days, African American leaders have spoken of “the Four Rs” that God has raised up in Jackson, MS to further the recent Reformed African American resurgence: Redeemer Church PCA (a dynamic multiethnic congregation mentoring numerous interns), Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) at Jackson State University (the first RUF campus ministry at a HBC/U, led by RTS grad Elbert McGowan), RTS and AALI, and Reformed African American Network (RAAN), co-founded by Jemar Tisby and Phillip Holmes.”

A BIT OF TISBY HISTORY AND ACTIVISM

Once fully vested in credentials as the special assistant to Chancellor Ligon Duncan, Tisby began his activism in earnest.

In 2015 PCA annual meeting he and Duncan proposed a “What is a Personal Resolution on Civil Rights Remembrance.” It did not pass but shows the team activism of Duncan and his disciple Tisby focus on race. The resolution was referred to the following year.

“The 2015 PCA General Assembly will be remembered most for the debate surrounding the Personal Resolution on Civil Rights Remembrance. Sean Lucas and Ligon Duncan signed the resolution and presented it at the Assembly.”

“While the resolution did not pass at the 2015 Assembly, it was referred to next year’s Assembly for consideration. In the meantime, Presbyteries and churches are expected to discuss issues surrounding not only the Civil Rights Movement but racial issues that continue to impact the church in the U.S.”

TISBY RADICAL TOUR

He then began to tour other events and reformed theological institutions and promote his racial narrative. One example was on the anniversary of the Protestant Reformation in 2018 where Tisby was featured to speak in meetings and during Chapel at the very conservative Covenant College on Lookout Mountain in Georgia.

In this speech Tisby asserts that the history of Reformed Theology is filled with systemic racism which is the core basis of CRT/Critical Race Theory.

SOME TISBY QUOTES

“The failure of many Christians in the South and across the nation to decisively oppose the racism in their families, communities, and even in their own churches provided fertile soil for the seeds of hatred to grow. The refusal to act in the midst of injustice is itself an act of injustice. Indifference to oppression perpetuates oppression.”
― Jemar Tisby, The Color of Compromise: The Truth about the American Church’s Complicity in Racism

“Being complicit only requires a muted response in the face of injustice or uncritical support of the status quo.”
― Jemar Tisby, The Color of Compromise: The Truth about the American Church’s Complicity in Racism

“Christians need to pay attention to how their educational choices for their own children reinforce racial and economic segregation in schools.”
― Jemar Tisby, The Color of Compromise: The Truth about the American Church’s Complicity in Racism

ONE OF THE MOST PROFOUNDLY ACCUSING OF TISBY STATEMENTS

“Complicit Christianity forfeits its moral authority by devaluing the image of God in people of color. Like a ship that has a cracked hull and is taking on water, Christianity has run aground on the rocks of racism and threatens to capsize—it has lost its integrity. By contrast, courageous Christianity embraces racial and ethnic diversity. It stands against any person, policy, or practice that would dim the glory of God reflected in the life of human beings from every tribe and tongue.”
― Jemar Tisby, The Color of Compromise: The Truth about the American Church’s Complicity in Racism

TISBY CONTRIBUTION TO THE CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM REPORT

THE PATRIOTIC WITNESS OF BLACK CHRISTIANS
Jemar Tisby, Ph.D.

“White Christian nationalists often refer to themselves as
patriots. They understand their mission as defending the
core principles of the United States and, in this sense,
they are acting as the truest Americans.
Unfortunately, the white Christian nationalist version
of patriotism is racist, xenophobic, patriarchal, and
exclusionary. Their vision of the nation conveniently puts
white people — especially men — who are politically
conservative and who make some claim of Christian
adherence at the top of the social hierarchy. Moreover,
white Christian nationalist ideas of patriotism not only
condone but celebrate the use of violent force to protect
their power, as seen in the January 6 insurrection attempt.
The Black church tradition, however, presents another
version of patriotism. In contrast to white Christian
nationalism, Black Christians have historically tended to
embrace a kind of patriotism that leads to an expansion
of democratic processes, the inclusion of marginalized
people, and a call for the nation to live up to its
foundational ideals.”

“While public attention often turns to the absurdities and
indignities promulgated by white Christian nationalists,
there are other examples of how to demonstrate a
commitment to America.”

“The historic example of Black Christians demonstrates
that a Christian commitment to God and country does not
always mean making America a white man’s country.”

CONCLUSION

LIGON DUNCAN’S PROTEGE’ IS AN EXPERT IN CRT AND PITTING BLACK AGAINST WHITE IN CHRISTIAN FAITH .

RTS ,like many seminaries are now flush with the practitoners of Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality . Tisby, like his friend and cohort Jarvis Williams at Albert Mohler’s SBTS or Southern Baptist Theological Seminary are not jr professors gone rogue but sit in positions favored and appointed by the esteemed men who head these institutions.

Racism and the accusations of it are now BIG BUSINESS in the conservative evangelical circles. WHY? you may ask. Because it is one more way to exploit the conservative Christians through endless guilt and accusations and continue efforts to shame them to the left in their social , spiritual and political convictions.

Where will it all end if this effort is a success? Third way compromise which is being set up to collapse Christians into the mushy middle and a socialism flavored interfaith inclusive Christianity . It will be a false faith having a form of godliness but denying its actual power to overcome sin including racism and resulting in a church that has lost its both its savor and its will to call sinners to true repentance.

A church whose present leaders have no accountability is bound for and fit for nothing but the dunghill of progressive politics.

EXAMPLE

A recent article by serial activist/ Ligon Duncan TGC fellow & 9MARKS editor Jonathan Leeman a graduate of the Fabian Socialist London School of Economics provides the new false and deceptive third way narrative.

You can smell the progressive rot in every word of Leemans article

A BAPTIST THIRD WAY FOR POLITICAL THEOLOGY “

Author’s note: The following article is the first half of a chapter I have contributed to a book tentatively titled Explorations in Baptist Political Theology, edited by Thomas Kidd, Paul Miller, and Andrew Walker, to be published by B&H Academic in the summer of 2023. Thanks to the publisher and editors for permission to publish the excerpt here so far ahead of time.”

“The basic thesis of my chapter is, a Baptist political theology offers a third way in between integralism, theonomy, or establishmentarianism[1] on one side and classical liberalism on the other. And though I don’t make the case in what follows, I believe it offers a political theological framework for Christians generally, even though I refer to it as a Baptist political theology. A paedobaptist might disagree with any number of points here, but I’m unaware of anything within a paedobaptist theology (of any variety) that necessarily prevents him or her from taking the path I recommend.”

LEEMAN CONTINUES HIS FALSE THIRD WAY NARRATIVIE

A Baptist Third Way?

“It’s at this moment, on the horns of the public theology dilemma, that a Baptist political theology walks up and offers something of a third way. It agrees with the theonomists, establishmentarians, integralists, and advocates of a thick justice generally that justice requires both a substantive moral basis and substantive moral clarity—the ability to say, “These rights are rights and those rights are wrong.” Yet it also agrees with philosophical liberalism’s anti-utopianism and its call for institutional constraints. It is comparatively modest in the expectations it places on law and therefore the power of government. Instead, it focuses first on regenerate local churches as the beginning of a righteous and just political life, which is precisely what makes it a Baptist political theology.”

WARNING DO NOT BUY THE SNAKE OIL OF THIRD WAY POLITICS – THEY ALWAYS PROVE A FAILED PATH TO COMPROMISE AND RETAIN NOTHING OF THE BIBLICAL CONVICTIONS OF THE PARTICIPANTS WHO CONSUME THEM. AMERICA’S ILLS WILL NOT BE HEALED BY THIS SNAKE OIL.

LIGON DUNCAN AND OTHER THIRD WAY CHRISTIAN LEADERS DISOWN YOUR LEGION OF PORTEGE’ OR OWN YOUR UNBIBLICAL PROGRESSIVE COMPROMISE.

1ST PETER 2:1 1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,
