FEW WOULD HAVE BELIEVED 25 YEARS AGO THAT THE SBC WOULD BE MARKETING THE SAME HERESIES AND POLITICS AS THE RADICAL PROGRESSIVE LEFT & DENOMINATIONS BUT ETS PROVIDES A WINDOW INTO THE LASTEST BAPTIST FASHIONS IN RHETORIC.
By Thomas Littleton
The annual meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society provided yet another glimpse behind the curtain in what has become the Southern Baptist -“World of OZ”. Some of the greatest heretical movements thriving in Baptist and evangelical circles today have had their first showings to the great “thinkers” and students of the ETS. Years before the Revoice LGBTQ inclusion called for by self identified “sexual minority” / “LGBT+ Christians hit the evangelical headlines, the leaders and founders had all been presenting their thesis and dissertations at ETS.
Today Revoice and the movement and players behind it continue to expand their brand while the errors of ETS focus move on to revisit the fanciful notion of “Chrislam” while inviting “refugee resettlement” /Soros Open Society partners & advocates in to ETS to bash Trump immigration policy and tout the common ground of the two deeply irreconcilable faiths.

CHRISTIANITY TODAY COVERED THE LATEST ETS MUSLIM EVENT
Muslims Join Evangelical Theology Conference
“Annual gathering of Christian scholars seeks better engagement with Islam.”
“It is not often that a Muslim appears at an evangelical theological meetings ..Al Mohler invited three.”
“This year’s theme: Islam and Christianity.“
“We are called to truth, and to understanding the world around us more accurately and thoughtfully,” said Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS), who also served as ETS program chair.
“That certainly includes our understanding of Islam, which has from the beginning represented an enormous challenge to Christian evangelism, apologetics, theology, and cultural engagement.”
- “The Authority and Function of the Quran in Islam,” by Ayman Ibrahim of SBTS
- “Through the Prism: The Trinity and the Islamic Metanarrative,” by Timothy Tennet of Asbury Theological Seminary
- “American Christians and Islam: From the Colonial Era to the Post-9/11 World,” by Thomas Kidd of Baylor University
But it was the challenge of “cultural engagement” that led ETS to reach out to the Muslim panelists. Each was invited to share their view of evangelicals, and address the issues that concern them. It could “scarcely be more relevant and urgent,” said Mohler.
Three Christians joined them on the panel, focused on“Understanding Our Neighbor.”
THE ANTI-TRUMP POLITICAL TONE
One Muslim participant Al Mohler invited asserts that Pew Research in 2019 found “white evangelicals to be twice as likely as Americans overall (76% vs. 38%) to support President Donald Trump’s 2017 “Muslim ban.” The narrative continued -“American Muslim Poll, only 20 percent of white evangelicals had a positive opinion of Muslims, with 44 percent feeling unfavorable.”
““Political tribalism drives how these communities see each other,” Uddin said, “and Muslims view evangelicals as intrinsically linked to the Trumpian other.”
Hamza Yusuf, cofounder and president of Zaytuna College in California, the first accredited Muslim liberal arts college in the United States, said strong Muslim support for George W. Bush helped him to the presidency in the razor-thin 2000 election.
But after 9/11, Republicans “anathematized” them.
“Muslims had a huge shift to the left in response to the love showed them by Democrats,” he said.”
SO CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIANS POLITICS (ESPECIALLY THEIR PRO TRUMP POLITICS) DROVE MUSLIMS TO THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND ITS “LOVE” TOWARD THEM ?
This is Christianity Today propagandizing conservative Christians with Muslim guest at ETS invited by Albert Mohler. So who are these “guest”?
THE ETS GUEST LIST INCLUDED A KEY PROGRESSIVE MUSLIM LEADER
“Asma Uddin, a religious liberty lawyer (previously INTERVIEWED by CT) and a fellow with the Inclusive America Project at the Aspen Institute, described the well-funded Islamophobia network that tars Muslims and the political left in a joint conspiracy to take over the world.”
“The effort seems to be working.”….
(More on the Aspen Institute later.)
NEIGHBORLY FAITH LEADERS/ MENTORS INCLUDED BAPTIST FALSE PROPHET BOB ROBERTS
https://www.neighborlyfaith.org/who-we-are
“A student-led movement bringing Christians and Muslims together.”
Neighborly Faith is building momentum and now has inclusion with the ETS thanks to the efforts of the SBTS leader Albert Mohler .

“Mohamed Majid, imam and executive director at the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Center, in Virginia, is going much further.”
“Partnering with Baptist pastor Bob Roberts, he has traveled to Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and other Muslim world hotspots to promote better treatment of minority Christian communities.”
“But when invited to Roberts’s Texas, Majid said that local pastors politely asked not to be pictured with corresponding imams.”
“After three days of ta’arruf—the Arabic word for “getting to know each other”—they volunteered to exchange visits in each other’s houses of worship.”
“We have so much in common with evangelical Christians,” Majid said.
“But to be true to our faith we have to get out of our comfort zone—which makes us better believers.”
“Uddin, who appeared in a second ETS panel with Matthew Kaemingk of Neighborly Faith, offered political encouragement. The 2020 American Muslim Poll found 49 percent of that community willing to build coalitions with conservatives to support religious liberty.”
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY FOR MUSLIMS AND LIFTING THE “MUSLIM BAN” ON MASS IMMIGRATION ARE KEY ISSUES. WHY?
THE LONG AND SHORT ANSWER IS -GRANT FUNDED IMMIGRATION PROGRAMS.
FOR SOUTHERN BAPTIST LEADERS EXPANDING DIALOG WITH AND BRINING ABOUT SOCIAL CHANGE IN THE SBC HAS A HUGE PAY DAY AT THE END OF THE IMMIGRATION RAINBOW.

THEOLOGICAL MONSTER MASH
According to the article some of the invited Muslim guest to the ETS monster mash were key players from the interfaith dialog happening at leftist think tanks like “The Aspens Institute ” and the leftist funded Christian -Muslim relationship building organization called “Neighborly Faith”. Neighborly Faith has already made inroads with the help of Mohler Disciple Russell Moore’s Ethics and Religious Liberties Commission leaders who joined Neighborly Faith conference and leadership at Wheaton last year. This event was sanctioned by the Chair the Billy Graham center at Wheaton/ Christianity Today propagandist minister Ed Stetzer.
You can read more about Aspen Institute and here :
“The Aspen Institute drives change through dialogue, leadership, and action to help solve the greatest challenges of our time.”
“Chicago businessman Walter Paepcke (1896-1960), chairman of the Container Corporation of America, first visited Aspen, Colorado in 1945. Inspired by its great natural beauty, he envisioned it as an ideal gathering place for thinkers, leaders, artists, and musicians from all over the world to step away from their daily routines and reflect on the underlying values of society and culture. He dreamed of transforming the town into a center for dialogue, a place for “lifting us out of our usual selves,” as one visitor to Paepcke’s Aspen would put it.”
“To make this dream real, in 1949 Paepcke made Aspen the site for a celebration of the 200th birthday of German poet and philosopher Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The 20-day gathering attracted such prominent intellectuals and artists as Albert Schweitzer, Jose Ortega y Gasset, Thornton Wilder, and Arthur Rubinstein, along with members of the international press and more than 2,000 other attendees.”
Inclusive America Project
“The Inclusive America Project, launched by the Aspen Institute in 2012, builds and sustains the field of religious pluralism by supporting faith and civic leaders, encouraging philanthropic giving to the field, and producing resources to help you get involved with religious pluralism.”
“The American idea is rooted in a vision that people from varied religious and ethnic backgrounds can unite to create a single nation: E Pluribus Unum. Consistent with that idea, the Inclusive America Project envisions a thriving American religious pluralism, where everyone has the rights, freedoms, and safety to worship, or not, according to their conscience. Religious pluralism isn’t just a nice idea – it’s critical to the health of our democracy and society.”
PAST ETS COLLABORATION WITH COMPROMISE / REVOICE MOVEMENT
ETS REVOICE AND SBTS LEADERS HISTORY FROM ARTICLE LINKED ABOVE:
THE LITTERMATES OF REVOICE -PUPPIES PLAYING IN A PUDDLE OF CHANGE
“For those who looked honestly and beyond the organized response to the Revoice controversy – the main concern that lingered was the hard reality of it’s founders long history at Albert Mohler’s conservative SBTS seminary . But Revoice Collins is far from the only one in the “Conversation” from the Mohler breeding grounds aka puppy mill.”
“Denny Burk of SBTS undergraduate school Boyce College ,also heads the Council for Biblical Manhood and Womanhood and is spokesperson for the Nashville Statement (NS) The N.S. document is put forth and claimed to represent a compassionate and pastoral but biblical and historic view of and approach to homosexuality and the cultural shifts concerning it.”
“Disapproval of the Statement and criticism of its shortcomings is claimed to be the inspiration of Revoice . In fact it is likely neither is true . The Nashville Statement does not condemn “gay or homosexual Christianity ” ,supports the “homosexual orientation “/SSA narrative most common in the TGC talking points and makes no clear case that people can escape homosexual desire. It does not stand with ministries that proclaim such a message of true Gospel effected change. Nashville Statement is in the mushy middle -left of center but asserted to represent the historic conservative stance. This is true of TGC /ERLC favorite Sam Allberrys SSA /Celibate still gay narrative as well. If the new “historic view is left of center – then the conversation is never allowed to go back across that line to the true historic / biblical context or standard. Very subtle and very effective .”
EVANGELICAL THEOLOGICAL SOCIETY, DENNY BURK, REVOICE :THE BACKSTORY
“Denny was the first in the TGC loop to respond to the growing controversy over Revoice in May 2018. However his response was measured and called for the church to “wait and see since the conference had not happened yet.”
http://www.dennyburk.com/what-about-the-revoice-conference/embed/#?secret=KHxVr56NcG
“Burk was a bit more critical after it was clear in the aftermath of the conference that the idea of LGBTQ+ Christian/ Queer Christian / sexual minority Christian was “not ready for prime time ” in the evangelical sea change once it had launched. Then again recall where it was launched from- Burks own circles at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary .”
SO IN FACT ETS IS WHERE THE ENTIRE REVOICE MOVEMENT CAME TOGETHER YEARS IN ADVANCE OF THE 2018 PUBLIC DEBUT.

CONCLUSION
ETS 72nd Annual Meeting Schedule
The Program Theme:
“Christianity and Islam”
Key Information:
Program Chair
R. Albert Mohler, Jr.
(The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary)
Mohler Elected President of ETS
Jeff Robinson — November 20, 2020
Southern Seminary President Albert Mohler was elected president of the Evangelical Theological Society Thursday during the organization’s 72nd annual meeting. Due to the pandemic, the meeting of evangelical scholars met virtually this week. The meeting was originally scheduled to meet in Providence, Rhode Island.
Previously, Mohler had served as vice president of ETS, having been elected to that office during the 2018 annual meeting in Denver, Colorado.
“I am deeply honored to serve as president of the Evangelical Theological Society,” Mohler said. “As a young evangelical, I came to respect and admire this society for its identity as a society of evangelical theologians that would demonstrate the highest quality of theological and biblical scholarship.”

“R. Albert Mohler Jr. has been recognized as a leader among American evangelicals. Time.com has called him the “reigning intellectual of the evangelical movement in the U.S.”
Whether it is Critical Race Theory , Revoicing LGBT+ Inclusion, Islamic Neighborly Dialog, or anti- Trump political rhetoric – you can count on SBTS/ Albert Mohler/ and Evangelical Theological Society to be reliable partners for the far left influences seeking to undermine religious liberty, sovereign borders, convictional voting , the constitution and any other fixed point in American church life. Along the ride you can also count on them to toss away the true Gospel for the latest rhetoric that pays huge dividends for the new paradigm church leaders in step with the new “global goals false faiths melded together in the PROGRESSIVE SWAMP called “the Common Good”.
